Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) championships have had their days of miracles at the throne. But even in 2019, new sensations are hitting the CS:GO championships and usurping the coveted titles from contenders from the past. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut are the new kids on the block to watch out for in CSGO championships.

While EliGE and ZywOo are already household names in CSGO circles in 2019, there is other new talent that is wanting to bubble to the top. Three other players who are headed for the top are Jere “Sergej” Salo, Twistzz, and Robin “ropz” Kool.

In this article, we’ll look at the top players who are defining CSGO in 2019. Most of the stars we look at here are young, but they have had an opportunity to earn considerable sums in championships.

Sergej

Sergej is 17 years and hails from Finland. Even though he cannot compete with ZywOo, he has had a miraculous rise to the top. Sergej has been the star continuously in as ENCE, a team he has played for consistently. His rise to the top has not been sudden like the risen stars of 2019, but he still moved pretty fast.

He has been playing in online tournaments since 2017. Sergej joined ENCE in 2018, and began to take over the tier 2 scene as of 2019. He is a shining star in one of the top three teams in the world. ENCE build their game tactics around enabling Sergej, unlike what Vitality did with ZywOo.

Ropz and Twistzz

Ropz is an upcoming star who plays for Mousesports and hails from a somewhat different CSGO culture. He joined competitive gaming in 2017, and that year was a massive awakening for him. Up to early 2018, he was a star in a team that was contending in the championships. The team was pushed out of top three slots and decided to change its lineup. Ropz did not go down but outdid his previous performance. Ropz is the focal point of his team.

Twistzz is not a leading star in Liquid, but he has shown potential and impact required to be a leading player. Twistzz is phenomenal when it comes to raw mechanics and is in one league with NiKo or s1mple. He is only 19 and rivals Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom when it comes to headshot aiming. Besides, he is very versatile and has previously reached top 5 players. Despite that he plays roles that are not so impactful for his team, he ends up having more impact than his rivals in other teams.

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut

ZywOo is the French sensation who was crowned the moment people found him. ZywOo was initially compared to s1mple, and it was awkward. However, this rising talent has proved that he is as much a star as s1mple. In fact, he is the shining star of Vitality. The team was a mess in terms of skill, strategy, and tactics.

They acquired Alex “ALEX” McMeekin and got some form. ZywOo is still their star player, though, who polarizes competing teams. His rise to the top has happened extremely fast. He is the best player on the scene and is in the second-best team in the world. He uses rifles and AWP exceptionally well, and the impact he has and his versatility are what puts him at the top of the world. The French lad is good at winning clutch when putting into trade frag scenarios, and his team exploits this strategy. He also exceeds most players at winning duels and opening picks.

Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski

EliGE defied expectations and broke through to become the third-best in CSGO circles. He has finally reached the levels that were expected of him years ago. Plus, he has grown over time. The new lineup on Liquid and their new strategy of a counter-strike who is roleless have formed the perfect environment for EliGE to flourish.

The American of Polish descent is extra versatile on the rifle and can easily pull several moves. He plays varying roles and is a bit like device back in 2018. EliGE is the star player of Liquid, though all the other players have had great games, too.
